Country songstress Natalie Alexander is here to make her mark on the music industry with her versatile songs that all listeners will universally relate to. Striving to make powerful music that evokes a range of emotion, Natalie’s lyrics will undeniably connect to fans of all ages and make each one of them feel like her best friend. Poised to take 2017 by storm, Natalie is ready to show the world her talents and prove she is a force to be reckoned with as she releases her single “Cruel” and its accompanying EP.

Growing up in Santa Cruz, California, Natalie credits being surrounded music from a young age for her love of singing and performing. Growing up with a mother who was classically trained in vocals, and brothers who had a rock band, she learned to play the piano at a very young age. “In one way or another I’ve been performing my whole life. I always loved having an audience. When I was really little I would set up my toys and stuffed animals and perform for them. I started dancing when I was five and continued until I went away to college, performing at competitions and recitals throughout the year. I’m not really sure I ever decided performing was something I wanted to pursue; it was just always very much part of me.”

During her school years, Natalie kept her love for music private, only revealing her talent to her peers when performing with a friend at a talent show during her junior year of High School. Despite her nerves, she ultimately knew it was the moment she fell in love with performing. “Creating something with your voice for an audience feels like magic – so different than anything I’d ever experienced.”

Finding inspiration through storytelling, Natalie cites artists like Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift as her biggest influences. Emulating their strong female voices and powerful storytelling, she hopes to make people feel something with her music. “Part of the reason I love all types of music is because hearing what different artists have created in their music can spark so many different emotions. Music is the most powerful thing in the world for that reason.”

Having recently found a love for songwriting and playing guitar, Natalie hopes to continuously evolve as an artist. “There are countless talented people in the world but what sets apart the best from the rest is artistry. I don’t know that I’m there yet but it’s going to be in the front of my mind as I continue to grow artistically. There’s a song on my EP for every kind of 2017 country fan. “

Her upcoming EP is a true product of self-expression, crafted in her own beautiful way. The lead single, “Cruel”, is a track that Natalie describes as “upbeat but meaningful” and something she felt instantly connected to. Other EP tracks include “What Love Feels Like”, a light track that describes carefree summer romance and “Wanted” in which Natalie describes a situation that everyone can relate to whether they “have a crush or you’ve been with the same person forever.” Country ballad “I Don’t Wanna Catch My Breath” is a track she says felt like an innate part of her. “It talks about the kind of love that makes you feel whole.”

In addition to her music career, Natalie is passionate about protecting women, children, and animals, as well as supporting veterans. She also has recently discovered a love for travel after spending the start of 2017 navigating Europe with friends, an experience that she describes as empowering and full of personal growth.

Most recently, Natalie has continued to explore songwriting, hoping to grow artistically and creatively. “I talk about things that I haven’t really ever said out loud, not even to myself until writing it, so I’m excited to get it to a point that’s ready to share.” In 2017, she is prepping for the release of her EP and hoping to continue to mature as an artist, musician, and songwriter.
